following the stay at home order, But foreseeing damages the decision is bound to cause, the lower chamber said the examination should be held albeit under the safety guidelines of the Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC).
Presenting motion on the floor of the House, Nnolim Nnaji and other lawmakers said the withdrawal of Nigerian students from the examination posed a great danger for the education sector.
”The negative and culminating effects of the government‘s action in seeking to withdraw Nigerian students from the examinations will be devastating on our educational system and Nigeria’s economy at large,” the lawmakers argued.
The lawmakers also argued that the future of over one million Nigerian students who have registered for the exam will be in jeopardy if the decision isn’t reversed.
