The president of Ghana, Nana Akufo-Addo, has gone into self-isolation after his exposure to a person within his circles who has tested positive for COVID-19.

This was revealed in a statement signed by the country’s minister of information, Kojo Oppong Nkrumah, on Saturday, July 4.

“On the advice of doctors, the President of the Republic, Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo, from today, July 4, 2020, taking fourteen (14) day precautionary self-isolation measure in compliance with COVID-19 protocols,” the statement adds.

Although the Ghanaian president has tested negative for Covid-19, he decided to go on self-isolation out of the abundance of caution.

Source says he will continue to work from the Presidential Villa as he self-isolates.
