President Muhammadu Buhari has revealed the number of people who lost their lives in the ongoing EndSARS protest in Nigeria as 69.

According to the president, the deaths were mainly civilians but include police officers and soldiers.

He disclosed this when he met with Nigerian leaders aimed at finding ways to end the unrest, BBC reports.

Buhari was reported to have said that 51 civilians, 11 police officers and seven soldiers were killed in the protest.

Meanwhile, it is not clear these figures included the protesters allegedly killed by security forces in Lekki, Lagos.
