The Nigerian Senate has threatened to issue a warrant for the arrest some ministers who have failed to honour its invitation to answer audit queries against them.

Senate committee on public accounts on Thursday, June 11, said it would be compelled to issue arrest warrants on the minister information and culture, Lai Mohammed, the minister of state, Petroleum, Timipre Sylva and minister of power Saleh Mamman and other heads of agencies if they do not honor its invitation, Vanguard reported.

The Senate said this ministers have failed to honour its invitation to answer audit queries against them.

Ministery of information Senator Matthew Urhoghide, the chairman of the committee smentioned that the others who have cultivated the habit  of not honouring the invitation include the minister of women affairs and social development, Pauline Tallen, her counterpart in the ministry of solid minerals development, Olamilekan Adegbite and the chairman, National Population Commission (NPC).
