The former vice president and presidential candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Atiku Abubakar, has again reacted over the killings of #EndSARS protesters in some states of the federation.

The PDP leader in reacting to the killing of a protester in Lagos on Monday, October 12, described the disbandment of the SARS as a welcome development.

Speaking in an interview with the Channels TV, Atiku said it was wrong for the police to face unarmed civilians in a democratic setting with guns, stressing that operatives of the disbanded SARS were not doing what they were trained to do.

He said: I have issued a statement supporting the reform of the police and of course also the disbanding of the SARS.

He stated that the police are not doing the kind of job they were trained to do actually.

“You cannot face unarmed civilians in a democracy with guns. Do you ever see such in any part of the world? Only in this country, so it is totally unacceptable.

Well, there is a need for them to reform the police actually to make it more civil.

He added that Nigerians have realised the best way to make the government do what they want and how they want it to be done.
